Events at Justice Mill

Justice Mill Social

A dozen members of the branch met in the Justice Mill (Wetherspoons) on Union Street on the evening of Wed 10th August for an informal blether. No minutes or agendas in sight, and that was just the way we wanted it. The guest cask ales were Stewart Brewing Festiv-ale, Cairngorm Trade Winds and Titanic Plum Porter. The Festiv-ale was soon drunk dry and we reckon that a significant dent was made in the cask of Plum Porter. Trade Winds was also pretty good. All beers selling for £2.19.

There were a few comments about how the beer range here was consistently superior to that in the other Wetherspoons pub, Archibald Simpson. All Wetherspoon pubs started using the real-ale-finder mobile app; The Justice Mill keeps the Real Ale Finder app up-to-date, but Archies seems to have lapsed.

Dave Smith is a CamRA member from the North West of England, and one of the shift managers at The Justice Mill. He welcomed us to the pub and offered us the chance to influence his beer choices over the coming season from the beer list. That challenge was gratefully accepted and feedback given. Dave also told us about upcoming events; the dates are these are not yet fixed so keep an eye open ...
